Crossing, Mill Street, Ickleton.
1901 census...George [2] was at Railway Crossing, Ickleton with his father Frederick [39] a railway platelayer born Bishops Stortford, his mother Fanny [41] railway gate keeper born Hallingbury, and his brother Frederick [17] a railway clerk, born Bishops Stortford. 1911 census...George [12] was with his parents (father now a sub inspector on railway) at Zurich Cottage, Deans Road (off Granby Street), Newmarket. Two of his siblings had died. |
11th Middlesex were part of 36th Brigade in 12th (Eastern) Division. In June 1915 they arrived in Boulogne. They were disbanded,in France, 2 days after George's death, which was their only death that week. |
